More careers links now find their board
When you paste a job link into freehire, we do not save that one vacancy. We work out which employer’s job board it sits on and start crawling the whole board, so every opening there — including the ones posted next month — shows up in the catalogue.
That only worked when the board’s name was somewhere in the link. Plenty of employers run their careers site on their own domain, where nothing in the address says which platform is behind it, and those links came back as “we don’t recognise this one” and went to a manual pile. Big employers were the most affected, because they are the ones most likely to have a careers site of their own.
freehire now reads the page instead of only the address. It recognises the platform running a careers site from the page itself, and it follows the request the page makes to fetch its own vacancy list — which often names the board when nothing else does. Six employers came in the moment it worked, about 1,600 jobs between them:
- Kuehne+Nagel — logistics, roughly 1,080 openings
- Intuit — about 380
- Nearshore Business Solutions
- Ness Digital Engineering
- InvestEngine
- RE Partners Consulting
Some pages still will not resolve. A careers site that draws its whole listing with JavaScript and carries no trace of the platform underneath gives us nothing to go on, and we would rather return nothing than guess at a board and crawl the wrong company. If a link of yours comes back unrecognised it goes to a queue we go through by hand, so it is still worth pasting.
