The catalogue now reads Ukrainian
Ukrainian-language vacancies were not arriving here, and the reason was smaller than it sounds. Before a Telegram post is read in full, a quick filter decides whether it looks like a job ad at all. That filter recognised Russian and English. Russian does not cover Ukrainian: «вакансія» and «вакансия» differ by a single letter, and to a computer that letter is a different letter entirely — not a spelling variant. So a post that opened with «Шукаємо Golang розробника» was set aside before anyone looked at it.
Seven Ukrainian channels are now crawled — two recruiter boards and five DOU verticals covering DevOps, QA, frontend, gamedev and junior roles. On one of them the filter had been letting through three posts in eighteen; it now lets through nine. On another it had been letting through none at all.
The second half was geography. Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa and the other regional centres used to arrive as a city name with no country attached, which meant a job in Lviv was missing from the Ukraine filter and from Europe — you could only find it by typing the city. They now carry both.
